Hola Familia y Amigos!
This week in the MTC has flown by, the days at times go by slow but the weeks fly by! Grateful for the ability we have to change in life. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can all IMPROVE!
Last Monday as a district we were doing some role play lessons where me and Elder Forsyth were trying to the help out our investigators (Elder Lachance and Elder Bradshaw). The Elders proved to be especially difficult investigators and I became really frustrated due to their non receptiveness to the message. I was close to just walking out of the 'house' and moving on, my anger and pride was in the way of the spirit. I was high headed pointing my finger at the investigators rather then at myself. This week I have really emphasized my studies on Empathy and Love, both Christ like attributes necessary for missionaries!
We cannot share the message of the gospel as a technique, we share this gospel because of our love for the people. We are like an instrument, a piano for instance, we have the ability to send a beautiful message to those willing to listen. However we need a musician to play the instrument, the musician is the Holy Ghost. May we, just like a sturdy piano, have all our keys in tune and be willing to follow the music the Spirit is revealing. The Holy Spirit is under the direction of the conductor, our Heavenly Father. When we are in tune to the Spirit showing our eternal love for our brothers and sisters we can relay the message God needs them to hear.
"...a bitter fountain cannot bring forth good water...." (Mni 7:11)
"...let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger..." (James 1:19)
Makord is not the conductor of the play, he can be however an instrument in fulfilling Gods plan
"...bringing to pass the imortality and eternal life of man..." (Moses 1:39)
"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. WE have been called of Him to declare His word among His people, that they might have everlasting life" (3 Nephi 5:13)
We ALL have been called to the work! 85,000 Missionaries may just be some 18-25 year old's but we carry the Spirit of Christ with us. God has chosen the weak things of this world and through his son makes them strong. With him we can do all things! No matter what our calling is in this world may we faithfully step into the unknown, relying on the love of our Savior to lift us up and inspire others.
In 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 we are told that our body is like unto a Temple. What goes on inside the Temple of the Lord? Work. If our bodies are also as unto a temple what must we do to have the Spirit of God dwell within us? Work. May we consecrate ourselves to the work of the Lord that he might allow the Holy Spirit to radiate from our countenances. Do the work. Receive the blessings in gratitude. Go back to work, this time stronger :)
What kind of the temple do you want to be??
I love and miss you all so much. This week I step into the unknown boarding a flight for Argentina, my new home. Thank you so much for your love and support to me while here at the MTC, I am excited to begin helping the people of Argentina and inviting them to come unto our Savior and redeemer, Jesus Christ.
God is good. The World is Good. We have the opportunity to make it better :)
les quiero todos,
Elder Larsen
