Been a little crazy here in Argentina for Elder Larsen.. This past wednesday night we received a phone call from Elder Santos, a Brazilian missionary who is an assistant to the President, He informed us that due to some emeregency transfers within the mission some changes would be occuring.. Elder More was going to recieve a new comp and contine working in Captian Bermudez and i was told in kind of a jokingly manner to just start packing up becase i was headed to a new area and needed to be in the mission home the following morning... As Elder More and I ran around the ward saying goodbyes to family and friends of Bermudez I couldn't help but question what the heck was going on.. Elder More and I are best friends and we are working our tails, what is happening in the mission to require changes? In the morning I quickly threw my clothes into the suitcases and we headed to Fischerton, Rosario.
I spent the rest of the day there in the mission home learning about my new assignment and just trying to figure out what was going on.. My new area is called General Villegas and my new comp is Elder Brock, he´s a veteran missionary from Baton Rouge Louisiana (before all this happened Elder Borck was the kind of missionary I one day hoped to be so to have him by my side now 24'7 is an incredible blessing) General Villefas is a newly part of our mission from when the big split happened back in July. About a year ago it was a small branch but due to inactivity it was closed up and the missionaries were pulled out. Our new assignement is to re-open the area for missionaries and the small meeting home to allow the members to participate in the sacrament on sundays.. We were going on an adventure :)
On Friday morning President Zanni sent us off at the bus terminal in Rosario and Edler Brock and I headed for Villegas (8 hours by bus).Upon arriving we finished the contract terms and headed to our new empty appartment. We didn´t have much, but we were in our area.. On saturday we spent the day cleaning the meeting house (a small store building) and trying to know as many members from the list we had... On Sunday Presidnent Zanni and his family came to the grand reopening of the church here in Villegas, it was a pretty amazing experience to see the joy as members took the sacrament for the first time in over a year.. It has been the hand of God leading us through this cool experience as we kind of just go into the unknown. As of now we are not big enough to be considered a Branch so we are considered a Unit of the Church.. Our Branch President lives 2 hours away but we are still under his delagation.. Hermano Cruz from here in Bermudez accepted the calling to be the group leader.. Poco y poco were constructing the Kingdom of God, The work of Salvation is an amazing work and I am ever grateful for the oppurtunity to be a part of it :)
Love you all thank you for the support. Enjoy the holidays and enjoy this special time with the family :)
